Series 1 titled Projects contains material related to the projects that Mukherjee was a part of and it has the sub-series as mentioned below:

Sub-series 1: Comet Media Foundation.
Comet Media Foundation is a non-profit organisation based at Mumbai, active since 1985. Chandita Mukherjee was the organisation's executive director. They are involved in producing educational communication materials in print, film and video media and in holding public events that bring these elements together. The subject of their work is a range of issues related to science, technology and society. They have evolved their own genre of educational development resource festivals called vividha. Hence, this sub-series contains materials published by, produced by or are related to their workings. 

Sub-series 2: Bharat Ki Chaap
Bharat Ki Chhap was a 13-episode Indian TV science documentary series chronicling the history of science and technology in India from pre-historic times until the present. It was directed by filmmaker Chandita Mukherjee and funded by the Department of Science and Technology's National Council for Science and Technology Communication (NCSTC) in 1987. It was telecasted on Doordarshan every Sunday Morning. It was introduced by Professor Yash Pal.
The sub-series contains scripts for all 13 episodes, and video tapes for some episodes. Companion books and episode summaries.

Sub-series 3: Science Channel 
The Science Channel was an initiative planned by DECU to broadcast a channel on science as a part of everyday life following the launch of EDUSAT - a satellite dedicated to education. This project was in partnership with Comet Media Foundation, the Centre for Environment Educational (CEE), the Department of Science and Technology (DST) and more. It was also intended as a follow-up to the Satellite Instructional Television Experiment (SITE). The planning for the channel involved several workshops across Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Kolkata, and Ahmedabad. This sub-series contains correspondence, administrative files, and publicity materials related to the initiative.

Sub-series 4: Notebooks
These are notebooks that Chandita Mukherjee maintained and has notes on different projects that she was a part of.

Sub-series 5: Documents related to science, gender, and media
This sub-series consists of other materials like booklets, correspondence, articles, brochures, etc.

Sub-series 6: Documents related to ISRO. 
This sub-series consists of other materials like correspondence, minutes of meetings, project proposals, notes, booklets, programme schedules and papers presented at workshops at SAC etc. 

Sub-series 7: Commissioned works
This sub-series consists of drafts of scripts and documents related to films Mukherjee was part of.

This sub-series consists of materials that she must have collected as part of her personal and professional interests.
