The Association of Medical Women of India (AMWI) was established in 1907, with Dr Annette Benson (Superintendent of Cama Hospital) serving as its first President. It soon advocated for the need for trained nurses, a movement also aided by the founding of the Lady Hardinge Medical College in 1916. By the late 1920s, it took up work on maternal health and child care. In 1937, Dr. Dossibai Dadabhoy served as the first Indian president of the association. This collection includes rare copies of its journal, from 1980 to 2003.
